Day 1Arrival at Entebbe International Airport O/N Karibu Guest House

Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative from Swanair Travel and Safaris, greet and transfer to your hotel/guest house. While in Entebbe, there are several optional activities available depending on your arrival time; Visit to the Botanical gardens, a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria or a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) O/N Karibu Guest House- BB

Day 2Fly to Kidepo Valley National Park, lodge transfers from the airstrip O/N Apoka Safari Lodge

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your domestic charter flight to Kidepo Valley National Park, situated in the far north-east of Uganda on the borders to South Sudan and Kenya. The aircraft used for in-country flights, such as the Cessna Caravan or Dehavill and Twin Otter, are often built for STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) conditions prevailing in many national parks and rural areas. The park has consistently been voted one of the best in Africa due to its wild and magical savannah type landscapes. Here you have the opportunity to see elephants, lions and giraffes, and the largest group of buffalos in Africa counting more than 2,000 animals. In addition, a game drive into the far northern sector of the park also offers the opportunity to visit the hot springs and is the only place in Uganda that features ostriches. Enjoy your breakfast and there after embark on the game drive in search of wildlife including lions, leopards, Giraffe ostriches and an impressive variety of tropical birds with 475 species identified to date, including 56 species of birds of prey. O/N Apoka Safari Lodge- FB

Day 4Game drives O/N Apoka Safari Lodge

 After your breakfast, drive to the Karamojong community-The Karamajong is a tribe of warrior pastoralists who live in the north-eastern corner of Uganda bordering South Sudan and Kenya. A visit to the Karamojong village, better known as Manyatta, located near Kidepo Valley National Park is a once in a lifetime experience as it allows you to observe and participate in the ancient cultures and traditions of the Karamajong up close. Day 5Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park O/N Twiga Safari Lodge

Drive approx. 7-hrs to Murchison Falls National Park, past the Karamajong communities and on to the most fascinating of Uganda’s destinations. Besides the wide range of wide life in the area, this park has the magnificent Murchison falls of the Nile River running through- the waters are forced through a narrow gap in the rock about 6 m (about 20 ft) wide. It is a breath-taking scenery at the top of the falls. Go for an evening game drive and proceed to the lodge. O/N Twiga safari Lodge- FB

Day 6Game drive, boat cruise to the bottom of the water-falls O/N Twiga Safari Lodge

Go for a game drive in park:  you will be able to see numerous wild animals including; Elephants, lions, the giraffe to mention and several others. Return to the lodge for lunch.  In the afternoon, we shall go for a boat cruise on the Nile towards the bottom of the falls, and with this wonderful experience you will be able to see crocodiles and hippos and other game feeding by the Nile banks! day 7Drive approx. 6-7 hrs to Kibale Forest National Park O/N Turaco Treetops

After and early breakfast, start journey towards the South to Kibale Forest National park- the largest habitat to Uganda’s Chimpanzees. We shall have a packed lunch today. Drive through Hoima, enjoy several attractions on the way including several tea plantations. Arrive Kibale in the evening, proceed to your Lodge for dinner: O/N Turaco treetops FB

Day 8`Chimpanzee Tracking O/N Turaco Treetops

After an early breakfast, be at the UWA starting point for chimpanzee tracking, thereafter, enter the thick forest which is a home of several primates including Chimpanzee. Chimpanzees, Pan troglodytes, are known as intelligent communicators. Chimpanzees differ from human beings by only 1 percent of their genetic material, making them our closest relative. They are among the wonders of the world making it the best experience to track their habitat watching them at a close range.  Lunch and then go for the bigodi swamp walk. This is a home to several bird species, enjoy the sounds of song birds in the wilderness. O/N Turaco treetops FB

Day 9Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park O/N Elephant Hab Lodge

After an early breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth national Park, a home to a variety of wildlife including elephants, leopard, lions, hippos, buffalo, Uganda Kob, baboon and many species of birds.  With both a riverine and savannah habitat, the northern Mweya area, traversed by the equator and dominated by the scenery of crater lakes, is often occupied by large flocks of flamingos. Visitors will find vast numbers of Uganda’s unique and strange Euphorbia, or “candelabra” tree.  The many nearby crater lakes and mountain ranges provide a beautiful backdrop for your journey. O/N Elephant Hab- FB

Day 10Game drive/boat cruise on Kazinga Channel O/N Elephant Hab Lodge

Early this morning as the African sun breaks, venture out for a game drive to look for big cats, elephant, buffalo and many antelope species. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometre-long natural channel linking Lake Edward and Lake George. Kazinga’s shores are dotted with herds of buffalo, hippos wallowing without a care, and countless bird species. Kazinga’s shores are a haven for numerous birds, including many migratory species as they make their way south to warmer climates. The cruise also provides a spectacular view of the beautiful Mweya Peninsula and life in local fishing villages set along the banks O/N Elephant Hab- FB

Day 11Transfer to Queen Elizabeth South -Ishasha Sector O/N Ishasha Jungle Lodge

After breakfast, set out for the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, rich with wildlife including warthog, water buck, bush buck, leopard, Ugandan kob, elephants, countless bird species and even the rare giant forest hog.  The Ishasha sector of the park is known for its famous tree climbing lions sometimes found lying about in the branches of the native fig trees. Day 12Game drive in Ishasha O/N Ishasha Jungle Lodge- FB

Early morning, go for a game drive in search of the famous tree -climbing lions of the area, these lions are usually seen lying with in the branches of the huge fig trees of Ishasha. You may also be able to see other animals like the elephants, elephants, buffalos and the Uganda Cobs. Return to the Lodge for lunch, afternoon at leisure and another game drive later in the evening. Day 13Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park O/N Haven Lodge Buhoma

Drive approx. 2.5hrs to Bwindi National Park, located in south western Uganda on the edge of the Great Rift Valley- considered the most diverse forest in Uganda.  The park contains almost one half of the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorilla, making it an extremely valuable conservation site. Bwindi is also home to several endangered bird species with very limited ranges, and acts as an important catchment area for many rivers, supplying water for agriculture in the surrounding region.  Dinner and overnight. O/N Haven Lodge FB

Day 14Gorilla Tracking O/N Haven Lodge Buhoma

Following breakfast, transfer to the National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. You will be guided by experienced guides into the dense forest in search of the Mountain gorillas. It is a life time experience viewing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild.  This is an experience you won’t soon forget!   

After the trek, return to your lodge and time permitting, go for and afternoon community walk. Please note: tracking may be fairly strenuous with treks up to six hours or longer, at high altitudes, not uncommon.   O/N Haven Lodge FB

Day 15Drive approx6 hrs to L. Mburo National Park O/N Rwakobo rock

This morning you depart for Lake Mburo National Park, approx. 6-7 hours’ drive. Enjoy game drives in the park in the afternoon.  Lake Mburo National Park is home to elands, Burchell’s zebras, impalas and a wide variety of bird species.  Free of carnivores, Lake Mburo provides a unique opportunity to see the park on foot and the chance to view vast numbers of diverse hoofed animals. Lake Mburo National Park works with local communities to create an environment in which domestic livestock peacefully coexist with the park’s native wildlife.  Overnight at Rwakobo Rock Lodge- FB

Day 16Back to Entebbe / Departure

In the company of a ranger guide, and before driving to Entebbe, embark on a nature walk in Lake Mburo where you may have the chance of viewing the grazers like the Zebras, bush bucks, elands, Impalas, grazing local cattle and a vast number of birds. Visit the salt lick area where a number of animals gather to enjoy the salty taste of soil.  

Drive back to Entebbe, approx. 5-6 hours with an en-route stop at the Equator. Proceed to the airport for your late international flight out.
