Day 1Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to your Hotel O/N The Boma Guest House- BB

Arrive Entebbe international airport, and depending on your time of arrival, we have optional activities that can be arranged for you upon arrival.

Entebbe lies on a peninsula in Lake Victoria, a location offering good opportunity for birding around the Lake shores. O/N The Boma Guest House- BB

Day 2Entebbe, through Ziwa to Murchison Falls National Park O/N Murchison River Lodge

After breakfast, drive to Murchison Falls National Park with an enroute visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Ziwa is the only place where you will be able to see rhinos in the wild. Presently the sanctuary is home to Southern white rhinos. Lunch and proceed to MFNP, visit the top of the magnificent falls before checking in at the Lodge. Day 3Delta cruise, Game drive, Murchison Falls National Park O/N Murchison River Lodge

Boat cruise to the Delta is a fantastic opportunity to discover the amazing wildlife along the river banks as you cruise towards Lake Albert. The delta formed when the river reached the northern shores of Lake Albert and is home to elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and a range of rare wetland birds, including the famous shoebill stork. It is considered the ‘birders’ paradise’ in the area.

 

In the afternoon, go for one of the highlights of your visit to Murchison Falls National Park – boat cruise for a close-up view of the Murchison Falls from the bottom while observing the wildlife found along the river banks. Day 4Murchison Falls NP to Kibale National Park O/N Turaco Treetops

Drive to Kibale Forest national Park; this Park is also known as a Birders paradise, featuring more than 320 bird species, and offering an extensive network of forest trails. The park is also the largest habitat to Uganda’s Chimpanzees. Drive through Hoima, enjoy several attractions on the way including several tea plantations an on to Kibale for a late lunch O/N Turaco Treetops- FB

Day 5Chimps Kibale, Bigodi Swamp O/N Turaco Treetops

After an early breakfast, be at the UWA starting point for chimpanzee tracking, thereafter, enter the thick forest which is a home of several primates including Chimpanzee. Chimpanzees, Pan troglodytes, are known as intelligent communicators. Chimpanzees differ from human beings by only 1 percent of their genetic material, making them our closest relative. They are among the wonders of the world making it the best experience to track their habitat watching them at a close range.  Lunch and then go for the bigodi swamp walk. Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, a community-based project known for its amazing biodiversity, including several primate species and over 130 tropical bird species; enjoy the sounds of song birds in the wilderness. Day 6Drive to the Northern Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park- Mweya O/N Elephant Hab Lodge

After breakfast with a gentle drive; transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park past the Rwenzori Mountains – “Mountains of the Moon” as they are commonly referred to you will notice a change in the vegetation cover as you approach the Park keep an eye on the game.  Check in at the lodge, lunch and later we shall have a late afternoon game drive to Kasenyi side of the park- if it is the season, you will be able to see the beautiful flamingos by the Salt Lake. day 7Boat cruise Kazinga Channel- O/N Elephant Hab Lodge

Go for a morning game drive in the park, lunch and then go for the 14h00 scheduled boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. The exciting boat cruise exploring the famous Kazinga Channel, a 32 km long natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel meanders through the lush park and offers the opportunity to see over 500 species of tropical birds as well as the largest concentration of hippos in Africa. Day 8`Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park- O/N Haven Lodge Buhoma

Drive approx. 4hrs to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park located in south western Uganda on the edge of the Great Rift Valley- considered the most diverse forest in Uganda.  The park contains almost one half of the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorilla, making it an extremely valuable conservation site. Bwindi is also home to several endangered bird species with very limited ranges, and acts as an important catchment area for many rivers, supplying water for agriculture in the surrounding region. Day 9Gorilla Tracking O/N Haven Lodge Buhoma

Following breakfast, transfer to the National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. You will be guided by experienced guides into the dense forest in search of the Mountain gorillas. It is a life time experience viewing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild.  This is an experience you won’t soon forget!   O/N Haven Lodge Buhoma- FB

Day 10Nkuringo walk to Bwindi South O/N Chameleon Hill Lodge

Transfer to the Ivy trail starting point, and walk through the Forest to the other side Bwindi Forest National Park. This is such an interesting experience walking through the forest enjoying the natural sights and sounds of the birds. O/N Chameleon Hill Lodge-FB

Day 11Birding around Lake Mutanda O/N Chameleon Hill Lodge

Following your breakfast, start your day of birding around Lake Mutanda O/N Chameleon Hill Lodge- FB

Day 12Lake Mutanda to L. Bunyonyi O/N Bunyonyi Overland Camp

Drive to Lake Bunyonyi the name ‘Bunyonyi’ literary means ‘many small birds’ translation from the native language. The area harbours approx.200 species of birds, both along the banks and on the several islands of the lake. O/N Bunyonyi Overland Camp-FB

Day 13Drive from Lake Bunyonyi to L.Mburo National Park O/N Rwakobo Rock

Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, this park harbours a variety of savannah birds including many eagles. The best areas for birding include around the salt lick area, miriti swamp and Rubanga forest. You will arrive in time to enjoy a game drive as you observe the birds in the area O/N Rwakobo Rock- FB

Day 14Drive from L. Mburo NP to Entebbe O/N The Boma guest House

Before driving to Entebbe, embark on a nature walk in Lake Mburo where you may have the chance of viewing the grazers like the Zebras, bush bucks, elands, Impalas, grazing local cattle and a vast number of birds. Lunch, and thereafter, start for Entebbe. O/N The Boma Guest House -BB

Day 15Birding in Entebbe-Mabamba O/N The Boma Guest House

After an early breakfast, drive to Mabamba swamp for birding or go by boat from Nakiwogo. This wetland is situated west of Entebbe on the shores of Lake Victoria, and it is home to over 300 bird species including the rare shoebill stork. Late afternoon/evening, go to the botanical gardens; the gardens are an opportunity for birding enthusiasts, it has an assortment of several plant species most of them indigenous to Uganda.   O/N The Boma Guest House/Karibu Guest House- BB

Day 16Departure

Time to say goodbye to Uganda; you will have your breakfast and later on transfer to the Airport for your International Departure Flight
